Why choose On The Ball?

Choosing someone to come into your home and care for your dog is a big decision. You want someone you can trust, who understands your dog and genuinely cares about their wellbeing.

Here’s what makes my service a little different:

🐾 Experience you can trust

I’ve been running On The Ball Dog Training & Behaviour since 2014, working with dogs of all ages, breeds, personalities and individual needs.

🐾 A trainer’s understanding

My background in Canine Behaviour means I understand dog body language, communication, enrichment and the importance of recognising what each individual dog needs.

🐾 Personalised care

No two dogs are the same. Visits are tailored around your dog’s personality, routine, age, ability and requirements.

🐾 Kind, reward-based approach

I use positive, force-free methods and always put your dog’s welfare, comfort and emotional wellbeing first.

🐾 Local and convenient

A friendly, familiar service right here in your community, without the need to travel further afield for reliable dog care.

🐾 Peace of mind

You’ll know your dog has been checked on, given attention and cared for while you’re away.

A little about On The Ball

I’m Nikki, Owner and Head Trainer at On The Ball Dog Training & Behaviour.

I’ve been helping dogs and their owners build happier relationships since 2014. My work centres around understanding dogs, supporting their individual needs and helping owners feel more confident.

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and alongside my training business, I share my home with seven dogs of my own!

On The Ball is built around kind, reward-based training, canine welfare and understanding the dog in front of you.

I’m now bringing that same personal approach to local dog care, making it easier for residents in the community to access knowledgeable, reliable support.

You’re not just booking someone to pop in. You’re welcoming someone who genuinely understands dogs.

If you’d like more dedicated training or behaviour support, I can arrange separate one-to-one sessions too.

Dog Training & Behaviour Support

Sometimes you need a little more than a walk or a drop-in visit. Perhaps you’ve welcomed a new puppy, are struggling with lead walking or recall, or would simply like to build your dog’s confidence and everyday skills.

Through On The Ball, I offer a range of training options to help you and your dog build a happier relationship and make everyday life a little easier.

Puppy Training & Foundations

Helping puppies develop the foundations for a happy life, including confidence, social skills, focus, self-control, recall and everyday manners.

121 Training

Personalised sessions designed around you and your dog, working on the skills and challenges that matter most to you.

Behaviour Support

For dogs who need a little extra help, whether that’s reactivity, anxiety, fear, over-arousal, handling difficulties or other behavioural challenges.

Group Classes & Workshops

Friendly, practical training opportunities covering everyday skills, confidence, recall, lead walking, enrichment and much more.

Training can be arranged around your dog’s individual needs, with options for home visits, practical training and virtual support where appropriate.

Whether you’re starting with a new puppy or looking for help with an established behaviour challenge, I’d love to help.

Regular visits, better value!

Need a little help with your dog every week?

If you’re looking for ongoing support, I offer reduced rates for regular bookings.

Whether it’s a weekly check-in, a few visits throughout the week or regular adventures, you can benefit from discounted pricing when booking on a recurring basis.

Just let me know what you’re looking for and we can arrange a schedule that works for you and your dog.

Regular booking rates apply to agreed recurring bookings, with at least one scheduled visit per week.

Let’s arrange a visit!

Before booking your first drop-in, I’d love to arrange a little introduction.

I can come and meet you and your dog, have a chat about their routine, get to know their personality and understand exactly what you’d like help with.

It’s a chance for you to ask questions, talk through your requirements and make sure we’re a good fit. We’ll discuss your dog’s usual routine, personality, feeding preferences, walking requirements, equipment and any specific instructions.

I want both you and your dog to feel comfortable before we get started.

Ready to get started?

Whether you need occasional help or would benefit from regular visits, I’d love to hear from you.

I’m keeping this service local, personal and focused on providing the best possible care for the dogs in our community.

Get in touch today to arrange an introductory visit and find out how I can help.
